Best Mates Charity

On 25th April 2025, it will be the 25th anniversary of my hip replacement, and to celebrate, I am planning to climb Yr Wyddfa, and hopefully raise £2,500 for Best Mates charity. The reason I chose them, is as follows:

Best Mates is a local charity built on the belief in strength of friendship, and the power of community. They make a real difference in people’s lives, through providing a network of support to someone going through difficulties. They start by connecting individuals with a “Best Mate,” a compassionate companion, who provides a safe space for open dialogue, free from any judgment and full of understanding. That mate is there to guide and support the person to change their life for the better. Best Mates know that simply meeting a “Mate” won’t always fix the issues, and therefore they obtain other resources with local services, to help the individual get through their current situation, and emerge stronger as a result.

Best Mates makes a real difference in peoples lives, through financial, emotional and physical support, and that is why I believe they are a worthwhile cause.
