Every week a family in the UK hears the devastating words ‘your child has a rare cancer’. For families facing a diagnosis of retinoblastoma, life changes in an instant. At CHECT, we offer lifelong emotional support, practical advice, and grants to support anyone affected by retinoblastoma.

Story

Close friends of mine have been affected by retinoblastoma (Rb) not once, but twice. They have a beautiful young daughter Tala, and I am running in support of her and her wonderful family.

Every week a family in the UK hears the words ‘your child has a rare cancer’. For families facing a diagnosis of retinoblastoma (Rb), an eye cancer that affects children aged 6 and under, life changes in an instant.

At the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT), we make sure no one faces this alone. For over 35 years, we have walked alongside families from the very first days of diagnosis, through through treatment and for as long as we are needed - offering lifelong emotional support, practical advice and grants to ease the financial strain.
