I think you probably all know I love running 🏃‍♀️😂 So it ‘ll come as no surprise that I’ve signed up to do my 3rd marathon on April 7th in Paris 🗼🇫🇷. We re going as a team 🥳Kay is running her first marathon 😍 Lucy & Ashley said YES immediately to the trip as long as they didn’t have to run 😂 Life is very much about making memories and these ladies provide laughs, support and a guaranteed fab time 🤩

Some days I may not want to run (honest 😜) but I do it because I can and that is something I am very grateful for 🫶 On the runs when it is tough having “my why” behind me helps…

As some of you know dad was diagnosed with dementia last summer. I would love to support and raise money for the chrysalis club in Hexham that dad attends. The club runs sessions for people living with dementia and dad enjoys going along to sessions like singing, pottery and music to movement. They have a chat and some cake 🍰(lemon drizzle has become a favourite) and play games. It’s part of his routine and gives mum a little break 🥰. They have a carers group too that offers mum support with others that know what it’s like to be a carer 🫶

It couldn’t happen without amazing volunteers ❤️. Pam is one of those volunteers who was paired up with dad on his first visit and she was a natural at helping him settle in and take part. Pam has volunteered for 15 years, we need more Pam’s in the world 🌍🥰

Like everything there are costs attached for the club to run. Below are a few examples of what any money raised would be put towards.

❤️£1,000 pays for one month's rent at the centre

❤️£200 pays for materials for the sessions for a month

❤️£150 pays for the Christmas party

❤️£70 pays for one week's co-ordination and organisation for trips out

❤️£50 pays for a professional tutor for a session

❤️£25 pays for an hour's counselling for a carer

❤️£4 pays for one DBS for a volunteer

Mum & dad are in their 80s & they live for each day. They have shown nothing but resilience, determination & a positive attitude since dad got his diagnosis. I’m really proud of them both and they know they have Helen and I right by their side. The chrysalis club has very much become part of our family “living with dementia” xxx
