Story

I am riding in memory of Jill Hoffman a dear friend who sadly passed away last year who always supported my charity work. I am thrilled to be accepted to race again after finnishing 4th in last years race. Through the race I met some incredible supportive people and have continued to ride out for Shaun Harris when needed and take horses in for pre training.

I am back training myself to ensure im fit enough and hope to raise lots of money for BHS Changing Lives.

I have been fortunate to have worked with horses all my life, starting out freelance to setting up my own yard 20 years ago. They have kept me going through some very difficult times including being diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2021.

BHS changing lives does amazing work providing access to horses to those less fortunate than myself.

Having worked closely with Steven Coyle a recovering drug addict ( who unfortunately cannot take part in the race this year) I have seen for myself how horses can help people rebuild their lifes. Horses are non judgemental on people's pasts and live in the moment, helping to build confidence, self esteem, and have the ability to connect people from different social back grounds. This in turn aids reconnection to society.

After being involved with Steven and Changing Lives, I am now looking at Equine assisted recovery and hope to set up a facility in Sheffield where retired racehorses can be used for therapy.

The British Horse Society promotes and protects everything dear to you and your horse. For over 70 years, the BHS has been a strong equestrian voice. We will continue supporting horses and riders, and you can too.

Road Safety: Too many horses and riders are being killed or injured on UK roads. Over the past year there have been over 1,000 incident reports on our roads involving horses; 180 have been injured and 46 killed - but we know only one in ten incidents are reported. We are dedicated to improving the safety of UK riders.

Riding Out: We're dedicated to enhancing and maintaining the UKs equestrian access network. We defend endangered rights of way for riders and carriage drivers with multi-user routes across the UK being improved, preserved, and reinstated making a huge difference to the community.

Horse Welfare: The BHS responds to over 6,000 welfare cases each year, but there are a thousand more in need of help. We work hard to promote the prevention of neglect, cruelty and harm
