On 3 December I am going to attempt something that I've never done - I will jump out of a plane. In St Andrew's. At the age of 71. You would think I would know better, but I am going by the motto of "nothing ventured, nothing gained" - and it's for a cause close to my heart.

With my friend Mary, I decided I would do this to raise funds for VisionPK. This is a great local charity in Perthshire, which works to support people who experience sight and hearing loss to live a fully independent life. This is a really important cause to me, given that I have loved ones that have experienced both - and the fact that it's a small, local cause makes it even more important to raise as much money as we can.

Please consider throwing whatever you can my way - and make the prospect of the terrifying dive a little easier.
