It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Hello! I’m taking on the Edinburgh 5K this May with my granddaughter. This is quite an adventure for me, as I’ve could not ever have been accused of being a runner (unless you count running after my dogs). But at 73, I’ve signed up for the Couch to 5K programme and I’m determined to see it through - aching body parts and all.

I’m doing this in memory of my husband Allan and my dear dad William, who both died from pancreatic cancer and we’re marking big anniversaries since their deaths this year (we lost Allan 15 years ago, and dad 25 years ago). It’s a cruel disease, often diagnosed late and has very poor survival rates, and I want to do something positive to help others going through what we did.

So I’m raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK, who fund research, provide support, and fight for earlier diagnosis and better outcomes.

If you can spare a few pounds to support Ellie and me, we’d be absolutely thrilled - and it might even help me pick up the pace! Thank you so much 💜

We are Pancreatic Cancer UK.

We go above and beyond for everyone affected by this disease. Right now, half of people with pancreatic cancer die within three months of diagnosis. Families are left with only hope to hold onto. They need more. So, we do more.

We bring more breakthroughs through research, more change through campaigning, and more support through our expert nurses. We make more noise because people have gone unheard. We are relentless because the disease is ruthless. We care more because people feel forgotten.
