Story
As I sit here knitting, I can't help but think about the families affected by dementia. That's why I'm participating in the November Knitting Challenge 2023 to support Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nurse charity. Their Admiral Nurses provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
Last year, my Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, a type of dementia. Although in its early stages, it has already begun to affect her daily activities. As a progressive disease with no cure yet, it's heartbreaking to see her struggle. That's why I'm asking for your help in raising funds for this wonderful charity that helps all families, carers and their relatives alike.
My goal is to raise £500 for Dementia UK through this knitting event on November 1st, 2023. Your donation will make a difference in providing vital support and care for those affected by dementia.
Please join me in supporting this cause by donating today! Thank you.
