Story
Hiya. My name is Alison and I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in December 2023. It's a condition that is still very much misunderstood, and currently is only able to be managed by treating relapses. A cure seems to be impossible right now.
The MS society have helped me to understand my diagnosis, recognise symptoms and most importantly, provided information to help me explain to my young daughter why mum now has "wobbly legs."
I have decided to fundraise for them by cutting off my long, curly hair. This is symbolic as many people have hair loss/thinning hair with this condition, and have issues with the amount of energy required to look after longer hair. So I'm cutting mine off. I hope that this will show that having MS doesn't rule our lives and there are things we can do to make life easier for ourselves and hopefully raise some money for a good cause too.
Any donations would be so appreciated, no matter how small. This condition changes lives and is relentless. Let's do what we can to further the research that can make a difference. Thank you so much and I'll update with a photo soon... X
