Doddie Aid 2024 · 1 January 2024 to 3 February 2024 ·

Just when you thought January would be spent on the sofa, eating leftover chocolate coins, and counting down the days until the 6 Nations starts, it is back, Doddie Aid 2024!

Story

Earlier this year my mum was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Not that long ago we used to go to Zumba classes together, go for walks and wander round the shops; unfortunately she isn't able to do these things now.

MND is a devastating diagnosis to receive, as there is no effective treatment and no cure. However, my mum is participating in the MND-SMART research programme at Edinburgh University which will hopefully discover treatments for future generations.

This research programme receives funding from the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. I have therefore decided to play a small part in the campaign by signing up for Doddie Aid 2024.

I have set myself a target of walking, running and swimming 7km a day, 50km a week, for the duration of the challenge. Every pound I raise will spur me on to get out there in the wind, rain, hail, snow, whatever!

Please do consider supporting this brilliant charity and this very worthy cause. Thank you in advance for any support you are able to give - I really appreciate it.
