This September, I'll be swapping my yoga mat for running shoes as I take on the Vitality London 10K to raise money for Rockinghorse Children's Charity.

Rockinghorse is a Sussex-based charity that supports sick and disabled babies, children and young people across our county. They provide life-saving medical equipment, create welcoming spaces for children and families, fund specialist staff, and support the incredible work of The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital, the Trevor Mann Baby Unit, and children's wards across Sussex.

In 2023, my son became critically ill and spent time in the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital. It was one of the most frightening experiences our family has been through, but thankfully due to the exceptional care the doctors, nurses and staff gave him, he made a full recovery.

During those long days in hospital, it wasn't just the medical care that made a difference. The books, games and DVDs provided through Rockinghorse Children's Charity brought moments of comfort, distraction and even joy at a time when we really needed them.

On 27 September, I'll be running through London as a small way of saying thank you. Without the incredible team at the Royal Alex, my son wouldn't be here with us today.
