Story
This year I'm taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon once again, but this time it's even more personal. I'll be running alongside my best friend of 35 years to raise money for The Epilepsy Society.
Three years ago, completely out of the blue, she experienced her first epileptic seizure at the age of 45. With no warning and no obvious cause, she was diagnosed with epilepsy. Over the following two years, she suffered regular seizures that turned her life upside down. She lost her independence when she could no longer drive, faced anxiety, isolation, and uncertainty about what the future would hold.
Determined not to let epilepsy define her, she started her fitness and running journey. Alongside the right medication and incredible support from family and friends, she's now been seizure free for 9 months, an amazing milestone that we're very proud to celebrate.
So this year, we'll be crossing the start line together, raising money for The Epilepsy Society. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support people living with epilepsy, fund vital research, and ensure no one has to face this condition alone.
