Story
I am taking part in the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday 8th March 2026 to support Tom's Trust - the UKs leading charity dedicated to providing psychological support to children and young people with brain and CNS tumours and their families.
This is a cause close to my heart as Tom was at the same primary school as our daughter.
Around 500 children and young people are diagnosed with a brain tumour every year, that's around 10 a week. Many will experience serious mental health issues as a result of their tumour and 62% of those who survive will then live with life-long disabilities.
Supporting one child and their family costs over £3300 per year. The money raised by our team taking part in the Cambridge Half will support many more families.
Every mile we run, every pound you donate will be helping us to support another child and enable us to change these young people's lives.
Everyone who knows me knows that I haven't run any distance outside since I fell, lost a front tooth and had stitches in my face during lockdown. So, this will be hard and I will be battling my own demons while raising money in memory of Tom.
