50 Goals. 1 Hour. One Incredible Service User Group

Alison Whalley is raising money for BCHC Charity

Penalty Shoot Out · 14 July 2026

BCHC Charity is the official charity supporting Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT, funding equipment, research & facilities not part of core NHS services. Your support helps us provide the 'extras' that bring a smile and enhance the experience for patients & service users.

Story

Coinciding with the excitement and spirit of the World Cup, the BCHC Learning Disability Service User Group is taking on an inspiring challenge by scoring 50 goals in just one hour in a special Penalty Shoot-Out to raise money for our Service User and Carer Celebration Event to held in September 2026.

This event will showcase and celebrate the incredible achievements, talents, and contributions of our Service Users. It’s all about making sure people with learning disabilities are truly seen, heard, and valued.

This fundraiser is part of Learning Disability Awareness Week (16th – 22nd June 2025), themed “Do You See Me?” — a campaign to raise awareness, challenge misconceptions, break down myths, and celebrate the lives of people with learning disabilities.

Our Service User Group, who meet monthly, are at the heart of everything we do. They help to:

Share ideas to improve services

Raise awareness of important issues

Support recruitment and staff training

Shape safe, high-quality care for others

This is more than just a football challenge — it’s about passion, inclusion, empowerment, and making a difference.

💙 Every donation helps us celebrate amazing individuals and ensures their voices continue to be heard.

Please donate and support us as we aim for 50 goals in one hour and make this celebration truly unforgettable!
