Story
So myself and John are running in the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 7th April 2024 for The EHE Rare Cancer Charity (UK) to raise funds to support EHE research. Any donation you can make to my fundraising page will all add to the EHE Charity’s campaign total.
Many of you know I was diagnosed with EHE back in 2018. I went to the drs for a lump that I thought was a cyst, to which they agreed as they deemed me too young for cancer.
3 weeks later I was sent to the breast clinic, as the cyst hadn’t gone.
A biopsy, many tests, many travels of my biopsy around a few hospital in the U.K. and months later I was being told I had cancer, more tests later showed it was a rare cancer of EHE, and nobody had any answers.
Epithelioid Haemangioendothelioma (EHE) is an indiscriminate and often destructive cancer occurring in men or woman at any age and which is often aggressive in children and young adults. There is so much that doctors don’t know about this EHE which is why research is so critical. Yet because of its rarity, there is little or no funding from government or the pharmaceutical industry for research into this cancer.
Thankfully I found the only specialist for it at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London, who has taken on my care ever since. I can not thank them enough for everything they have done, including the support and the knowledge when I felt lost and had no answers.
So to give something back, I’m dragging hubby along for this crazy journey! I know, who would have thought it! Running a half marathon is something Iv always wanted to do, so,
Please help me contribute to the fight against EHE rare cancer. Your donation or fundraising will be life-changing and ultimately may be life-saving. Thank you so much for your generosity and for caring enough to join the battle against this devastating disease.
