Story
In 2026, I’ll be taking on an incredible challenge: swimming the English Channel as part of a 6-person relay team. It’s one of the toughest open-water swims in the world—freezing, unpredictable, and demanding months of training and determination. But every stroke will be worth it, because I’m swimming for a cause that is incredibly important.
I’m raising money for Aspire, a charity that supports people living with spinal cord injuries. As a nurse in a major trauma centre, I’m often there at the very beginning of someone’s journey—caring for patients in the critical hours and days immediately after a spinal cord injury. I see firsthand how suddenly life can change, how frightening and uncertain those early moments are, and how vital the right support is for patients and their families as they begin to rebuild their lives.
Aspire provides exactly that kind of support: accessible housing, practical guidance, independent living services, digital training, and a community that helps people reclaim their independence and confidence. Their work is transformative, and they rely on donations to keep offering it to everyone who needs it.
By donating, you’re not just supporting my Channel swim—you’re helping real people facing life-altering injuries receive the care, resources, and hope they deserve. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. Thank you so much for your generosity and encouragement. Let’s make every mile of this challenge count.
