Alistair's fundraiser for Alpine Run Project, a Solo Non-Stop Ridgeway Walk (140km) on 12 June 2026

Alistair Elliott is raising money for Football Beyond Borders
In memory of Emma Elliott

Any amount would be hugely appreciated

We exist to change the lives of young people. There are thousands of young people who are passionate about football but are not fulfilling their potential at school. We provide long-term, intensive support, built around relationships and young people’s passions, in the classroom and beyond.

Story

In June 2026, to mark the first anniversary of his wife Emma’s passing, Alistair Elliott will undertake a 140km non-stop walk along the Ridgeway National Trail. Supported by his two sons, Edward and James, this will be Alistair’s first major fundraising endeavour since 2002. At age 64, attempting to complete this in just 30 hours will be the toughest physical challenge of his life.

Alistair is raising funds in Emma’s memory for the Alpine Run Project (ARP), an initiative founded by his friend John McAvoy. To give himself the best chance of success, Alistair is being guided in his preparation by Aidan O’Flaherty (The Irish Physio), a lynchpin of the project.

The Alpine Run Project provides a vital connection to nature and physical activity for young people from inner cities. By utilising trail running to foster profound personal change, ARP helps young people develop the discipline, resilience, and sense of community that comes from training for a shared goal. The funds raised will directly support the logistics required to give these young people the life-changing opportunity to travel and run in the Alps—an experience that builds a lifelong sense of belonging and achievement.

Alistair has already been overwhelmed by the incredible support of businesses he works closely with, who have collectively committed over £45,000 to the cause. These wonderful donors include: Berkeley Group, Delancey, Grosvenor, Howdens Joinery, Knight Frank, LondonMetric, L&R Group, Prime Time Beers, and Ventura Capital.

He is now aiming to raise as much as possible to ensure this project can continue to transform the lives of the next generation. To further this impact, the Elliotts will match donations by giving £1,000 for every £10,000 raised, up to a maximum of £10,000.

All donations are managed by the registered charity Football Beyond Borders (FBB), who ensure 100% of the proceeds reach the ARP.
