Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

I am a GP from Cornwall who is passionate about raising the profile and funds for Brain Tumour Research. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

Brain tumours are indiscriminate, affect people in their prime, and inevitably leave a life-changing or life-limiting legacy. The individuals affected and their families are resilient, brave and inspirational. I am running for my colleague’s brother Ben, my son’s good friend George, and my sister-in-law’s father, Mike, and all their families.

Brain Tumour Research are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK.

Please sponsor me to run the Arc of Attrition, a 100mile Cornish winter coastal trail ultra. I have had to run the Arc 50 mile and a 100K ultra to even qualify. The Rate of failure for this race is 50% on average, so please sponsor me knowing there is no guarantee of success. I will do my best - let’s together support those families who are affected by Brain Tumours, and get behind the research to finding a cure.
