Story

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Myself and Alex are tackling this challenge as so many people around us are being diagnosed with cancer far too early in their lives. We are both dad’s and whilst watching our son’s playing an indoor cricket match in the winter, we were talking about so many people we know being diagnosed with cancer. This includes within our cricket club, Broadstone.

So this is something that we are doing to help support them and show our honour for the strength and conviction that each and every one of them has.

We are waiting until the end of the cricket season to do this challenge.

A special mention to Alex Taylor who has used this opportunity to get on a bike and start training from scratch. Also to Stuart Newcombe who is another dad at the club, and plays with us each Saturday in the 4th team. He has had his own battles with cancer but is pushing us both on to raise as much money as possible. He and his family are showing far more strength from living with this than Alex and I are from cycling to Paris. Stuart, you are a hero and inspiration to both your family and to me and Alex.

Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
