Story
On Sunday 4th October, I’ll be taking on the Glasgow Half Marathon to raise funds for St Andrew’s Dementia Hub
The Hub provides dementia-friendly social sessions every week, creating a safe and welcoming place for people to connect, have fun and enjoy meaningful activities. These include arts and crafts, gardening, music, dancing and singing, reminiscence, puzzles and games, pet therapy, gentle exercise, walks and adapted golf.
They also provide a weekly shared lunch, outings and community activities, helping to reduce isolation and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to feel included and connected.
Every donation will help the Hub continue providing these vital services and give people living with dementia a place to feel supported, valued and, most importantly, happy.
This cause is particularly close to my heart because my gorgeous little Gran lived with dementia for many years. Despite her diagnosis, she was still the brightest, cheeriest little lady you could meet. We were incredibly lucky to have so much time with her, with her personality shining right until the very end.
My Gran was an avid singer, dancer and painter, so knowing that donations can help others living with dementia enjoy activities that bring them joy makes this fundraising incredibly meaningful to me.
Any donation, big or small, would mean so much. Thank you for supporting me and St Andrew’s Dementia Hub! 💜
