Story
Hi Everyone thanks for stopping by.
As you may or may not know In 2021 Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. We are now 3 further years on and Dad and I have witnessed an exceptionally sharp lady deteriorate in front of us. Aside from the expected challenges, the added complexity for Mum is that part of that deterioration is Aphasia, so her language function has been hugely effected to a point where it’s extremely difficult for us all to understand her. The sad thing for me is that she knows what she’s is trying to say but literally can’t say it and to see her upset and frustrated by this is heartbreaking. It really is the long goodbye….. In support and trying to raise a bit of extra cash I’m trekking 13 miles along the south devon coast, and event put together by the Alzheimer’s Society.
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives and provide help and support to those living with dementia today and providing hope for the future by funding ground-breaking research.
So yes a great cause which is very close to my heart and something I want to do my bit for and Hopefully you can help a little bit to.
Thanks Allan x
