Story
In memory of Allan Macpherson, Bishopbriggs who passed away on February 15th at the Marie Curie Hospice in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow.
We have set up this page to dedicate wonderful memories for the hero who was our dad, our papa, our uncle and a husband. His wife Meg, his daughters Fi, Ali & Morag, their husbands, Andrew, Bob & Rory, his grandchildren Morven, Struan, Freya & Brody, his nephew Carl. He was so many things to many, many people who will miss him dearly, a son, a brother-in-law, a cousin, a friend, a colleague. We, as a family, benefitted from the exceptional care provided by The Marie Curie Glasgow Hospice whilst Allan was there for his final week in February and we would now like to repay that kindness with donations to the team who made Allan so welcome, so comfortable and ensured his passing was pain free and peaceful.
Allan was born in Finchley, North London in 1936 and married in 1970 before moving to Scotland in 1974. His family was originally from Errol, Perthshire. His father sadly passed away before he was born so he was raised, an only child, by his mum Lily, who passed away in 1981.
Anyone who knew Allan will have benefitted from his selfless personality and he raised his three daughters to know that true happiness lies in being contented with your life and those who surround you. He never desired materialistic things - confirmed by anyone trying to buy him birthday or christmas presents (!) and as long as there was a constant supply of salad cream and blue riband biscuits, he was pretty much sorted.
His funeral has been arranged for Thursday 12th March in Bishopbriggs. If you would like to join us to celebrate Allan's life, please do join us at Bishopbriggs Crematorium at 11am and then afterwards at Woodhill Evangelical Church at 12:30pm.
We know that some might not be able to make it and it would mean the world to Allan's family to offer a donation to the team who cared for him as a legacy to the wonderful human that he was. 100% of donations will go to the charity thanks to JustGivings "fee free" fundraising.
Thank you for your generous donation which supports the Glasgow Hospice and Marie Curie across the UK.
