Story
Our daughter, who is 14, has lived with a severe nut allergy since she was a baby. She has experienced anaphylaxis four times in her life. On a very recent occasion she needed three EpiPens when she was unable to breathe after eating a product which, from the labelling, appeared to be free from nuts or nut traces.
Living with a nut allergy can be challenging, particularly when away from home, eating out or going on holiday. Unfortunately, too often we experience a lack of knowledge and understanding of food allergies and their severity, and sometimes a lack of care and compassion. Although awareness is improving, and charities like Natasha’s Foundation are doing incredible work to make a difference to so many people, there is still a long way to go.
That is why we wanted to create a local event to bring people together, raise awareness, and generated much-needed funds for Natasha’s Foundation.
Join us on Friday 2 October for a communal 5k dog walk starting on Sheen Common at 9.15am near the West Temple Sheen entrance to the Common. All humans and dogs welcome!
