Allianz Global Investors are riding again in The Great Escape 2025!

We were honoured to be introduced to this organisation last year and aside from a fantastic day with the Onwards & Upwards and XO Bikes team it was incredibly motivating to hear real impact this is having on individuals.

On Friday 09th May 2025 15 colleagues from the London Office will be cycling 120km in a day of stimulating muscles and minds; challenging while introducing riders to different aspects of the criminal justice system and the reason why Onwards & Upwards exist as a charity.

Setting off from Richmond, visiting Bronzefield Women’s prison and Feltham YOI while taking in the beautiful Surrey countryside on route to Herne Hill Velodrome in South East London.

The main driver for reoffending, with 52% of those leaving prison being back inside in 6 months, is unemployment. Onwards & Upwards starts small, beautiful and loud sustainable social ventures which train, mentor and employ those leaving prison or with criminal records.

The economic cost to society to reoffending is £18.5 billion a year. There is of course an even greater social cost!
