Blame Mum—She Said I Ought to Do It!

This year, I’m taking on Race the Sun Jurassic Coast Off-Road for children's charity Action Medical Research. I am joining my little sister’s team—three lifelong school friends who I’ve known since they were at school.

We might not be setting any speed records, but there will be grit, determination, and style. I expect laughter, heroic efforts, and a rock-solid commitment to the post-race drinks.

In June we will be setting off at sunrise to bike, hike and paddle around a challenging course in a race against the sun.

💀 The Challenge (Thanks, Mum!):

✔ 26 miles on a bike—which sounds fine… except I haven’t ridden one in over a decade.

✔ 10 miles of hiking—because obviously, cycling for hours isn’t enough.

✔ 2 miles of kayaking—at which point, we might just float to the finish line.

Why am I doing this? Because my mum said I really ought to. So here we are, embracing the challenge with enthusiasm (and maybe a little bit of reluctance).

*Will we finish? Yes.

*Will we look like total legends doing it? Absolutely.

*Will there be celebratory snacks and wine? Without a doubt.
