Story
There are two constants in life: change and death. Despite this, we have a hard time talking about the latter.
Unfortunately, grief is something that will all coming knocking on our door at some point in life. In 2021, I lost my big sister Emma when she was 25 years old. Since then, it feels as though my life has been split into two halves, before and after the 18th July 2021.
I have spent the past 4 years trying to work out how I will live with this loss for the rest of my life. Although, I'm still very much on this journey, I am very passionate about being vocal on talking about loss, grief and bereavement.
The work of Sue Ryder is essential. Not only do they provide incredible support for those requiring palliative care, but they also provide bereavement support for any and all who've experienced a loss. I personally have benefitted from the services they provide and am really thankful they provide this support to anyone regardless of how their loss happened.
On the 12th April, 2026, I will be completing my first half marathon in Emma's memory and raising money for Sue Ryder along the way. Anything you're able to donate would be incredibly appreciated. Thank you!
