Story
I had this very silly idea last year,
that in order to make my 30th birthday important, I needed a challenge. Low and behold, I found a marathon that was actually on my 30th birthday, acted impulsively - and € 120 later here we are.
The idea of doing it for charity has always been a driver as I love a purpose - and a reason to push me over the finish line when my legs are like lead and my feet are just one giant blister.
Cancer Research has always been a charity close to my heart, so it felt inevitable that this would be my choice. I'm not the first person, and I'm definitely not the last person to be affected by the impact of cancer. Alongside the people I have lost, last year saw some of the people closest to me have some lucky escapes - and none of those close scrapes would have been possible without the work of cancer researchers - and the impact of this charity.
On 07 April, I will be pounding the streets of Paris, praying that I cross that finish line so I can go get a birthday champagne and baguette - and lets face it, 10 or so almond croissants. If you have a penny, a pound or even a message of encouragement, I would be forever grateful.
