Story
We are once again busy planning the Alne Charity Tinsel Tractor Run, which will return for its fourth year on Sunday 6th December 2026! 🎄🚜
What started in 2023 as a small local fundraiser has grown into a fantastic community event. In 2023, we raised £2,500 for Alne Pre-school Playgroup, followed by £5,500 for the Children’s Ward at York Hospital in 2024. In 2025, we raised an incredible £7,500, split equally between Lucy’s Legacy and the Farm Safety Foundation. Last year, more than 90 tractors and wagons, all decorated with Christmas lights and tinsel, took part, with huge crowds coming out across the local villages to watch, support and enjoy the event. The atmosphere really is incredible!
❤️ Our 2026 Charity
This year, we are incredibly proud to announce that all money raised will be donated to the Children’s Ward at York Hospital.
This is a charity that is very close to our hearts.
The Children’s Ward continues to take great care of our son, Bertie, when he has attacks of respiratory infections. Thankfully, these episodes are becoming much less frequent, but we will always be incredibly grateful for the care, kindness and reassurance provided by the wonderful doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants and play team.
Our connection to the Children’s Ward certainly doesn't stop there. Many of our close family and friends have, at some point, relied upon and trusted the team there to care for their children. We are sure that many families across our local community will have their own connection to the ward too.
It is a service that means so much to so many local families, and we are delighted that the Tinsel Tractor Run can play a small part in supporting the fantastic work they do.
🚜 This year's Tractor Run
The Tractor Run will take place on Sunday 6th December, following the same route as previous years.
Starting in Alne, the festive convoy will travel through Tollerton, Newton, Linton, Aldwark, Flawith, Myton, Helperby, Easingwold and other surrounding villages.
The event brings a huge number of people into the local area and creates a fantastic festive atmosphere for residents and local businesses alike. We are incredibly proud of how much support the event receives from the community!
