Alnwick Angels at the Northumberland Mighty Hike 2025

Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike 2025 - half · 14 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Hi everyone,
we are four friends who have challenged themselves to walk the Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike Half Marathon to help raising money for people living with cancer.
Hi, I'm Antonia and I'm doing my 1st "Mighty Hike" primarily to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a fantastic charity. Both my Husband and Mother in law have beaten different cancers, and more than once. I'm very lucky to have them and this is helping give back so more people can be supported through this horrible disease!
I love taking on a new challenge and this walk through our wonderful Northumberland coastline, will be a great experience. Also it'll be a good way to help reach my weight loss goals, have a memorable experience with my friends, and contribute to a worthwhile cause. Thanks for your support! 🥰
"1 in 2 people in the UK suffer from some form of cancer in their lifetime, that's scary.....we need to stamp this horrible disease out!
Over 8 years ago my Dad was diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer, this was detected early because of the frequent tests men are given. He was diagnosed just before he came out to visit us in Australia, we all thought that trip wouldn't happen....it did! The specialist said he could go there for 2 months then start treatment when he came back. He chose to have an operation (which he didn't have to wait long for) which thankfully eliminated the cancer. Many people we know had cancer and many thankfully have had treatment and survived. Personally I also want to do this challenge so I can start a healthier, fitter lifestyle and lose weight. Which will reduce my chance of illnesses in the future."
Because cancer can affect your life in so many ways, Macmillan do whatever it takes to give people the support they need.
"I am taking part in the Macmillan Mighty Hike 2025 (half marathon) to help support those who are living with cancer."
"I do this in memory of my partners Dad, Pete, who lost his fight to mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer and in memory of my friends Sisters, Maureen & Susan who both recently lost their lives one year apart to lung cancer."
"I am doing this in memory of my loved ones who got diagnosed and lost their battle with this terrible disease.
In particular I am doing this in memory of my sister in law Marta, who lost her battle with pancreatic cancer last November, aged only 45, leaving her husband and two young children. And in memory of Paul, a work colleague who lost his battle with lung cancer last June."
Many people live with this horrible disease and we would be so grateful if you could help us reach out £1000 pledge, as this could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support.
There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.
Thank you!
