Story
Many of you will know that I have been getting more serious about my marathons over the years and this year will be no different - Am looking to better my PB of 3:42 at Ldn Marathon '22. Same course, different year, hopefully faster (and older) me.
3:30 is the target this time. Ambitious but let's go for it and if i fail, so what? Over the past few months, I have clocked >850km mileage + strength and mobility training (Strava https://strava.app.link/7ZZF1evHPIb) I feel leaner and fitter and hopefully that shows on race day.
Going to add a little twist though - I intend to raise funds. A cause that is dear to my heart and in my opinion overlooked is the preservation of the wild in the UK. A Sep '17 trip to the Isle of Skye (after the Berlin Marathon) still ranks as one of the most memorable holidays ever. The walks, the sights, the dare I say it, vibes... Simply incredible.
The John Muir Trust believes that wild places and the experience of wildness are vital to our lives. They work with others to repair and rewild damaged ecosystems, looking after some of the most magnificent landscapes from the far north west of Scotland to the Lake District in England
I cannot thank you enough if you will be so kind to support the John Muir Trust and me.
Hit me up if you want to go for a run together sometime soon!
