The Access to Justice Foundation awards grants to charities to ensure vulnerable people can access the legal help and support they need. These charities support some of the most disadvantaged people in our society; enabling them to understand their legal issues, access their rights and giving them the ability to regain control of their lives.

As the number of people desperately in need of free legal help rises, funding for free legal support services is being continuously cut. The lack of funding has meant some organisations have had to merge, stretching tight resources even further. Many have ceased to provide services altogether, leaving whole communities with almost no access to legal support if they are unable to afford legal fees.

One of the key ways the Access to Justice Foundation raises funds is through its annual legal walks, with last year’s Aberdeen Legal Walk raising £671 for the cause. We are delighted that the walk will be going ahead again this year, and would like to invite you to join us in raising funds for the local legal advice sector.

The walk will be taking place on Wednesday 8 October, with registration starting at 17:00.
