Charity Concert: Always A Rainbow 🌈 · 23 September 2023

Ben Pavitt's Legacy of Love Fund is a Special Named Fund at CCLG, raising funds for research into all children's cancers.

Story

On 23 September 2023 Pinpoint Productions, in memory and celebration of the lives of our much loved founder member Nigel Finch and the son of two of our performers Ben Pavitt is producing a semi-staged concert called ALWAYS A RAINBOW - SING UP TO CANCER at MAST Mayflower Studios, Southampton. This concert aims to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and support services. Half of the profits from the concert (what is left from ticket sales after production costs such as theatre hire) will go to Ben Pavitt’s Legacy of Love Fund (a Special Named Fund of the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group) and half to Macmillan Cancer Support. The purpose of this justgiving page is to recognise the particular place in our hearts which Pinpoint has for Ben’s Fund, which is one of the main reasons we and many of our performers are staging and supporting this concert.

MAST as a venue is cashless and does not allow raffles etc so whilst there will also be charity buckets there on the day we are specifically encouraging our audiences and importantly our supporters who cannot attend on the day, to consider making a donation to Ben’s Fund before the event or on the day via Justgiving, with the aim of helping the fund hit its £100,000 target by 8 October 2023, the second anniversary of Ben’s death.

There are a number of justgiving subpages going to Ben’s Fund which you could of course donate to and show your support, but Pinpoint wished to set up this subpage just to make it easier for our audiences and supporters to find.

For anyone sympathetic to this cause who is also interested in musicals we are also offering a small extra incentive by way of a Free Musicals Prize Draw, open to everyone whether or not they are attending the concert and not conditional in any way upon their making a donation, with prizes including a subscription to Musicals Magazine and free theatre tickets for local amateur stage productions, with the draw taking place on 24 September 2023. To enter the draw simply email mike.pavitt@outlook.com with the phrase “Legacy of Love Free Musicals Prize Draw” in the subject heading of your email and a name and mobile number in the body of the email: We will text our winners with details of how to claim their prizes. All data received in this way will be used solely for the purpose of thanking our supporters and communicating prize information and will be deleted within 3 months following the draw taking place. Any prizes unclaimed after that time will be made available to Ben Pavitt’s Legacy of Love Fund for related fundraisers.

Thank you for supporting this concert and our efforts to raise funds for childhood cancer research and in particular in this context to honour the life of Ben Pavitt, a promising young stage performer sadly lost to cancer, aged just 16, in 2021.
