Alysia Gilda is raising money for British Dupuytren's Society

Cycling The Preston Guild Wheel · 10 May 2026

Dupuytren’s. A common, chronic and progressive disease.

Often named “Viking Hand”

I saw bumps on the palm of my hand which turned into tight cords running up my fingers. Eventually the cords tighten and pull the fingers down towards the palm, a permanent “hook.” I love to cycle and was devastated.

I had surgery and decided on my recovery to fundraise for The British Dupuytren’s Society, who are researching for a cure.

Our cycle ride around The Preston Guild Wheel is a challenge of 21 miles on a traffic free route. Supporters are walking any distance.

Come and join us meeting at Avenham Park on May 10th at 11am.
