Story
This November, for Mouth Cancer Awareness Month, we are raising money for the Mouth Cancer Foundation to help raise awareness, support those affected by mouth cancer, and make a difference to the lives of patients and their families.
We are two dentists working across both primary and secondary care at Gentle Dental Care in Croydon and St Helier Hospital. Through our work in dentistry, we see first-hand how important it is to recognise the signs and symptoms of mouth cancer, understand the risks, and encourage people to seek professional advice if they notice anything unusual.
We want to use our roles in both community and hospital dentistry to spread this important message as widely as possible. Early detection can make a real difference, and improving awareness could help more people recognise the warning signs and seek help sooner.
How can you get involved?
🥾 Take part in the Mouth Cancer 10KM Awareness Walk – From Home
The Mouth Cancer Foundation's 10KM Awareness Walk is a great way to get involved, get active and show your support. You can complete the 10km walk at your own pace, wherever suits you, and use the opportunity to spread awareness among your friends, family and community. Whether you walk alone or with others, every step helps shine a light on mouth cancer and the importance of early detection.
🧁 Come along to our bake sales at St Helier Hospital
We will also be holding bake sales at St Helier Hospital on 18th and 20th November, so please come along, enjoy a treat and help us raise funds for this important cause!
Why the Mouth Cancer Foundation?
The Mouth Cancer Foundation is dedicated to supporting people affected by, or at risk of, mouth, throat and other head and neck cancers. It provides valuable information, guidance and support for patients, as well as their families, friends and carers, helping them navigate the challenges that a cancer diagnosis can bring.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support the Foundation's work and contribute to raising awareness of these cancers.
Please donate if you can, join us for a walk, come along to our bake sales, or simply share our page to help spread the word. Every contribution and every conversation about mouth cancer matters.
Thank you so much for your support! ❤️
