I have decided to raise money for Alzheimer’s research as it has personally effected my family. My Grandad, Arthur was diagnosed with Dementia when I was a teenager and my Mother cared for him in his own home for a year or so until he had become incapable of living on his own. At this point my parents decided to move him into the spare room of our house. I was still living with them at this point so I would see Arthur everyday. Despite him becoming more and more confused and forgetful, he still remained positive because he was surrounded by family. Even when he eventually forgot how he knew us he was still happy to be with us. Unfortunately he passed in May of last year. With small donations to this cause a lot of people can be positively effected there has been lots of great research done recently in an effort to cure some of diseases which cause Dementia such as Alzheimers and I genuinely believe this could be curable in my lifetime.
