August Yoga Challenge 2024 · 1 August 2024 to 31 August 2024 ·

By dedicating just 20 minutes of your day to yoga throughout August, you'll not only enhance your own well-being but also contribute to our vital mission to raise awareness of sepsis and offer free support to survivors.

Story

AMALAwellness CIC is challenging staff and students are taking part in 20 mins of Yoga a day across August.

When we often think of Yoga, we think of asana (the postural practice of Yoga). However, this is only 1 of 8 limbs of Yoga. Meditating, Pranayama (Breathwork) and practising Karma Yoga (giving back to our community) are all part of this and can be included in the 20 minutes a day.

Aimee's mother passed away in April 2024, from Sepsis after being diagnosed with cancer. When Aimee seen this challenge, she thought it would be a wonderful way to remember her Mum, raise awareness of Sepsis and the signs, as well as being more active over the summer!

Aimee's mum attended Chair Yoga weekly and really enjoyed and felt the benefits of it. Thelma is missed at the class.

So.... will you join us to help raise funds and support UK Sepsis Trust?

Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis.

It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms.

It also funds our vital support work, Public Awareness, Educating Health Professionals & helping people adjust to life after sepsis through accessing our Support Group network. We also lobby government to support our cause and makes vital changes in areas such as the NHS.

Thank you.
