My Sister's Story - Jackie Prior

In February 2023, my life changed dramatically when I was diagnosed with Incurable Stage 4 Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, a type of Breast Cancer, which sadly had already spread to my Spine and Vertebrae. The first 6 months were the worst and loneliest of my life; despite the support of my lovely family and friends. The physical and mental reality of cancer is something that you want to protect them from and I didnt know anyone at all with a similar Breast Cancer diagnosis And then- after my plea on a Facebook Group, a member of Terrible Titties and Other Bitties reached out to me. The charity is amazing and some of the ladies sadly have Incurable metastatic cancer. We meet regularly and whilst we may share a few tears, we share many more laughs. TT&OB organise monthly meetings, retreats, craft sessions, cold water swim sessions, afternoon teas etc. Support, kindness, knowledge and laughter is ÀLWAYS guaranteed.

With their support and help, I've learnt to live and laugh again.

Please Support my beautiful sister Mandi and her partner Steve, in what I think is an amazing but CRAZY challenge. This isn't your normal marathon- It's 52Km of sheer endurance, running UP and DOWN PEAKS, to raise much needed funds, to help TT&OB continue to help others live and laugh again.

Thank you so much if you can donate, so that others receive the same support- Life is good now, I'm tolerating treatment and my scans show me stable and I'm loving life x

Thanks for reading, and thank you for your support.

My Story - Amanda Dorricott

In June, I’m running the Peak District Ultra Marathon. It comprises of running 52km through the Peak District – with the elevation gain of 1250m. (The equivalent of running up Snowdon and then some) – to raise money for Terrible Titties and Other Bitties, a charity that provides essential support for people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Like many people, I’d always known of people who had cancer. Friends of friends, colleagues’ loved ones, distant relatives. It always felt devastating—but distant. You never think it’ll come crashing through your own door.

Then, it did.

One day, cancer stopped being someone else’s story when my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. A few short weeks later, the news got worse: it was incurable metastatic breast cancer that had already spread to her spine and vertebrae. In the blink of an eye, everything changed—for her, and for all of us.

The odds say that 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime. Half of us. I always thought maybe our family were the lucky ones. Until we weren’t.

This diagnosis didn’t just shake us—it flipped life on its head. But in the middle of the fear, pain, and uncertainty, my sister found Terrible Titties and Other Bitties. This community and charity have given my sister real support, understanding, and hope—not just medical advice or information, but true connection with others who get it. They’ve made her laugh, lifted her spirits, and reminded her she’s not alone.

That's why myself and my partner Steve are taking on this Ultra Marathon —52km of trail running, hills, and grit. Because every step I take is for her and for the many others navigating life with cancer.

If you’re able to donate—even just a little—it will go directly to supporting the people who need it most. The people living with cancer every single day. The ones whose stories often don’t get told.
