Every step I take in the Herriot Hospice Moonlight Glow Walk on 3 October 2026 is a tribute to the compassionate care provided by Herriot Hospice in the Hambleton and Richmondshire districts of North Yorkshire. This incredible hospice supports people facing terminal diagnoses, offering practical, social, and emotional support that allows them to live their final days with confidence and dignity in their own homes.\n\nThe recent opening of the new in-patient unit, Herriot Hospice at The Lambert in Thirsk, represents a hopeful new chapter for our community. Since March 2026, the phased welcoming of overnight patients has begun, promising even more comprehensive care for those who need it most. However, none of this vital work would be possible without the generosity and kindness of our community.\n\nI am walking to raise funds through the Moonlight Glow Walk because every pound donated helps sustain these essential services during what is undoubtedly the most challenging time in a person's life.
