Story
I am one of eleven local businesspeople who have been put behind bars for Maggie's. I've been found guilty of failing to de-clutter my desk without enough regularity, and sent down with bail set at £1,000.
With only my phone, laptop and my powers of persuasion, I need your help to raise funds to pay bail and escape jail.
With one in two people suffering from cancer everyone is impacted directly or indirectly. Over the past few years I have witnessed first-hand the impact cancer has had on close family, dear friends and colleagues and I am in total awe of their bravery and strength.
When I saw the fantastic challenge that Maggie's were undertaking in February to raise funds, how could I not be involved! We all need to “take the fight” to cancer and I will be doing all I can to raise the biggest bail pot I can to provide key funds to ensure that Maggie's continue to undertake their vital work.
For many people living in the Northeast, Maggie's Aberdeen is a beacon of hope, offering a unique programme of practical and psychological support, available free of charge to people at any stage and with any type of cancer, and to their family and friends.
In the past decade Maggie’s Aberdeen have received over 80,000 visits, provided tens of thousands of hours of 1-2-1 psychological and specialist cancer support and raised £9,000,000 in financial gains for local people. They rely entirely on voluntary donations and gifts in wills to fund their work, and with instances of cancer 1 in 2 people, there is huge demand for the support they provide. Please bail me out and help Maggie’s – every £ will help.
