Story
11th November 2025. A massive THANK YOU. I’m so very grateful for every single donation which has smashed the goal. But I’m keeping on going by kicking off the next part of this fundraiser, rather symbolically on Remembrance Day. Bit by bit, I am selling John’s enormous Kawasaki related collection. I’m sure this is what he’d have wanted. Let’s find a cure.
19th October 2025. Today marks one year since my one true love passed away. Due to the terrible weather forecast here today, I brought forward my climb which I did yesterday. Despite 8 months of training, it was by far, the most physically gruelling thing I’ve ever done. Thanks to incredible encouragement, support, guidance & kindness from fellow climbers, John’s remaining ashes were scattered in the summit of The Old Man of Coniston.
3rd October 2025. It's time to update my page as in a weeks time, I will be setting off for part 2 of my fundraising - a sponsored climb of Johns favourite mountain in the Lake District. It's 802m (2634 feet) to the summit (hence the goal total). I've trained hard, I have hiking poles in his favourite colour and a donated heart full of determination. Please help me raise as much as possible for this charity in memory of my beloved husband who fought valiantly against glioblastoma.
Sept 25.
I am running 3 events over the coming months. The first is a sale of T-Shirts, sweatshirts, fleeces etc over the weeks ahead. This will be followed by a sponsored challenge & lastly, by an auction. Details of these will be added as the time for the next event arrives.
* Thank you to everyone who came & supported my T-shirt sale. Because of your generosity, I’m now half way to my initial target. Part 2 of my fundraiser will be next month. Details of this challenge coming soon!!
