Story
I was diagnosed with PPMS back in 2019 and the Chiltern Neuro Centre have supported me from the word go. I know that I can turn to the team for help at any point and they always fit me in around work whenever I need assistance. The knowledge that they are there helps to give me confidence to try different things. Since 2019 my mobility has gone from being able to run (badly) to being reliant on a wheelchair. It has been a huge mental challenge as well as a physical one which I don't think I would have coped with without the support of the centre.
During the month of August the centre was looking to do a virtual swim the channel asking members to swim a mile each. I was asked to finish off the remaining distance as swimming is my go to activity so I will be completing the final 4 miles in aid of the Chiltern Neuro Centre.
The Chilterns Neuro Centre is a local independent charity based in Wendover that believes everyone affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's and stroke survivors in the Chilterns area deserves to lead a healthier and happier life. We empower people to do this by helping them achieve their goals through physical, practical and emotional support for the entire family, for as long as they need. Our care is free and we aim to support people to live happier and healthier lives by improving symptoms and helping them to achieve personal goals.
We love what we do and couldn't do it without your support. Thank you for helping us raise over £1 million annually to fund our care. Every penny is needed to do what we do.
