Story
Im running the GNR 2026!
As many of you know Diabetes is a charity that is close to my heart. Both my brother and my 10-year-old nephew live with type 1 diabetes, me and my family witness daily the challenges they face so I will be running every step for them!
However it doesn’t stop there, I’m with all my little side kicks! September 2026 will be a family effort for us, not only am I preparing for the Great North Run 2026, Lathe my son who will be 3 years old is preparing to run the Junior Mini GNR with his dad the same weekend, along with my brother Keith himself and Owen’s little brother Oliver. Owen will also be running himself with Keith, again, and with my step children Poppy & Jenson, all taking part in the Junior GNR. I just know they are all going to enjoy every second and have enough enthusiasm for themselves and me.
I am determined, this is not just a HUGE personal challenge for me, and for the kids, but also an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Diabetes UK, an organization dedicated to finding a cure. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer.
Any support means the world to me and my family and countless others who are impacted by this condition.
Wish us all luck. All the kids will run to their hearts content, Keith and Spencer will be the best support the kids could wish for and I will finish this half marathon with a smile on my face, I promise!
We can’t wait to spend a weekend down the quayside cheering each other on!
