Milton Keynes Marathon · 6 May 2024

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are currently experiencing first hand the challenges and difficulties associated with dementia as both my Granny and Austin’s Nan have been diagnosed with it.

It’s been heartbreaking to see how quickly dementia can take hold of a person and impact every part of their day-to-day lives. What also struck us was the toll it takes on the families supporting people with dementia too.

So when we decided to run the Milton Keynes Marathon this year (something that’s been on my bucket list for a while!) it seemed fitting to run it for our nans and to try to raise as much money as we can for Dementia UK.

As experts in the condition, their tailored, life-changing support helps families through the fear and confusion of dementia. From sharing practical tips for caring, to offering compassionate emotional support and helping plan for the future, they are there when people impacted by the condition need them most.

Any money you could spare to donate to this worthy cause would be much appreciated. Thank you 😊
