In 2025, Russell took on the London Marathon for Marie Curie and raised an absolutely incredible £17, 646!! (He actually ran it for SSAFA this year and raised just over that amount).

The support he received was phenomenal, and that fundraising meant even more to us because Marie Curie is a charity very close to our family.

Our mum was cared for by Marie Curie in 2000, and that care and support at such a difficult time is something our family has never forgotten.

But this isn't only for our mum. It's also for our Auntie Valerie. It's for our family and friends who have been affected by cancer over the years.

And it's also for all the families we don't know who are going through it right now. It's for the people living with cancer, the people caring for someone they love and the families facing some of the hardest days of their lives.

Like so many families, cancer has touched ours more than once. That's why we keep raising money for Marie Curie as it means so much to both of us.

Russell's fundraising efforts were so successful that Marie Curie have now very kindly given us 2 places in the 2027 London Landmarks Half Marathon.

So this time there are two Smith's taking on London!

And we are going to see how much we can raise together.

We are not relying on donations alone, we will be selling advertising space on our kit. Businesses can buy a space for their company logo on our t-shirts/vests and possibly shorts too! You could have your business advertised during our training and at the event.

There will be some charity Bootcamps being held also.
