Story
On August 31st, Terry and I will be walking in memory of our loved ones lost to cancer - for Gab, for Kate, for Nick and for mum. We will be raising money for Macmillan as we take part in their 26 mile, Mighty Hike along the coast from Padstow to Newquay.
While we have always known how incredible hospice care is, nothing prepared us for how beautifully mum was looked after, not only in the community for months on end, but also as a resident in the hospice during her final weeks. The level of specialist care and kind attention helped mum maintain such dignity and strength, she felt SO grateful and blessed to be there, especially as she could at last take her beloved hot baths and enjoy endless chocolate ice cream!
The vast majority of Macmillan's income comes from its supporters and is used in so many ways - from helping those living with cancer to pay bills to supporting the patient's families too. They showed us such warmth and compassion whilst we were all there at the hospice - more than happy to feed us rounds of toast and coffee as we turned mum's lovely spacious room into a dormitory of many beds!
We would be so grateful for any donations you would like to make, helping us to help Macmillan make a difference to all those living with cancer.
