Story
I’ve run all my life as a way to stay fit and healthy, but I’ve never really seen myself as someone capable of running a marathon. Then, as I embrace my 50th year, I asked myself… why not?
So here I am - in training, gearing myself up (and loving every minute… so far!!) - to run the London Marathon on 26th April 2026.
I’m running for people who don’t have the privilege to do so. That’s why I’m pledging to raise £2,000 for the incredible charity Able Child. Able Child works across Africa to break down barriers to inclusion, helping children with disabilities not just survive, but thrive. Quite simply, they make sure no child with a disability is left behind.
Able Child helps children like Patuma (you can see a photo of her on this page), who grew up in Malawi without the support she needed. A spinal condition meant she couldn’t walk unaided, and her mother cared for her around the clock.
Thanks to Able Child’s project with their Network Member in Malawi, Patuma was identified and enrolled in an Early Childhood Education centre, where caregivers were trained in physiotherapy. She was also given a wheelchair, allowing her to move around more independently. Now able to join her peers in inclusive classrooms and play, Patuma's future looks bright.
So let’s make a deal… I’ll run, you sponsor me 😊
Any donation, big or small, truly makes a difference. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
LET’S DO THIS!!!
