The Centre for Community Development (CCD) is a registered humanitarian organisation committed to supporting poor and marginalised communities in the Tamil homeland and the Upcountry regions of Ilankai (Sri Lanka). CCD’s initiatives in Ilankai include education support, empowerment activities, and advocacy.
The Centre for Community Development is a registered charitable organisation (Charity Number: 1109368) dedicated to assisting impoverished and marginalised communities across the North, East, and Upcountry regions of Sri Lanka. It also endeavours to empower and uphold the welfare and dignity of individuals who have sought refuge from Sri Lanka and established themselves in the UK.
Our initiatives in Sri Lanka are multifaceted, encompassing a Village Regeneration Programme with a comprehensive strategy that supports children, individuals with disabilities, single women, and senior citizens. Other recent undertakings include the establishment of the Varadakumar Resource Centre and cooperative frameworks.
Our programmes in the UK include the Elders Empowerment Programme (EEP), the Healthy Mind Programme (HMP), the Tamil Women Development Forum (TWDF), and the Heritage Unit.
A 5km charity walk is scheduled for Sunday, 27 September 2026, at Nonsuch Park, Ewell Road, SM3 8AB, commencing at 11 am, followed by a picnic. A minimum donation of £10 is kindly requested from each participant. We respectfully seek your generous contributions to support and strengthen our projects in Sri Lanka.
