Snowdon Trek

Acacia Family Support aims to improve the lives of mothers and families affected by Pre or Postnatal depression across Birmingham. We offer families a variety of support services including peer support and befriending, cognitive behavioural therapy and a unique dads project.

Story

Joshua and Elsie (with support from Pete!) will be taking on their biggest challenge yet - quite literally - as they plan to conquer Snowdon at the end of July to raise money for Acacia Family Support, the charity that their mum works for and is passionate about.

Acacia offers kind and loving support to mums and families who are suffering from pre and post-natal depression. Acacia goes the extra mile, providing love, hope, and understanding. They provide a listening service where parents can be open and honest about their struggles, group work to help parents look to the future more positively, practical support in the home for those struggling with the day-to-day demands of having a new baby, and specialist services for dads, young parents, and those from black and ethnic minorities.

They are so excited to be taking on this challenge and any support you can give would mean the world to them and will make a big difference to the wonderful families Acacia helps.

I owe Acacia my life, as without them I don’t think I would have coped. I had weekly sessions where I could freely talk and have someone understand me. By sharing my feelings and thoughts, I suddenly wasn’t alone. Acacia was the best thing that happened to me and I truly thank them from the bottom of my heart. They gave me my life back.”
