Story
I have previously cycled the 310 km from London to Paris in 24 hours with Alasdair.I was raising money in particular for Felix ,Alasdair's son, who is a Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy boy .I said I'd ride with him again in 2026 .Alasdair unexpectedly died last year .I am cycling in his memory .
Alasdair was a friend who inspired .A colleague with an intellectual curiosity .Someone who could belly laugh and had a generous smile for my unfunny humour. He was the greatest company. His devotion to his family commanded my respect and on occasion awe.He had immense patience and great determination .
DMD is a genetic disease that can and will be cured .The Dash to Paris is its major annual fundraiser.Alasdair was always an inspirational part of this event.
