Meeks Winter Walk for Endo 2025

Winter Walk for Endo 2025 · 20 January 2025 to 26 January 2025 ·
Endometriosis UK is an incredible charity, fighting to help those with the condition get on the right pathway to treatment.
I don’t think I’m ready to share my story and experience but the important factor here is that this is not MY story, this is OUR story.
Endometriosis is an invisible chronic pain disease that affects 1 in 10 women. In most cases, it is caused by the natural hormone Oestrogen not working how it’s supposed to. Those suffering with the condition are often faced with making challenging and difficult decisions during diagnosis, treatment, management and decisions surrounding their reproductive future.
To provide context, daily life can be a struggle. Battling with exhaustion, lack of appetite, fear of making plans in case you have to cancel and the obvious - fighting off debilitating pain comparable to labour, 3 weeks out of 4. It takes an average of 8 years to get a diagnosis and when you finally do get one, you learn it is not a curable disease. After the diagnosis, you may have to wait for 2 years before receiving treatment such as extensive surgery.
Please speak to the girls and women in your life about it. If you know someone who can’t get off the floor because they’re in pain, don’t accept that as normal, it’s easy to assume it’s due to menstrual cramps. Please push for them to get a scan and take their pain seriously because Endometriosis left untreated will worsen with time.
If you know me, you know being active is not my favourite thing to do. I much prefer a glass of white wine whilst reading a book however, I will be raising money for Endometriosis UK by taking part in the Winter Walk for Endo from the 20th - 26th January 2025. The total distance to walk is 10km but I’m going set myself a personal challenge of 70km and I’m hoping to raise over £500.
So please help me in raising awareness and donate to support the 1 in 10. Donate for your daughter, your sister, your mother, your aunty, your grandmother and your friend.
