Story

Hello everyone,

Firstly, thanks for clicking on here and reading!

So I’m a little late to the running party with this one! I was offered a place in the London Marathon on the 14th January 2026. What a new year present!! ☺️

The Sally Army contacted me and asked if I would like to run for their charity. So here I am back training! 🏃‍♀️

A little bit about me you may not know…

Running the London Marathon 2026 for The Salvation Army – My Thank You for "My Thursdays"

I'm incredibly proud to be running the TCS London Marathon 2026 for The Salvation Army. They offer vital lifelines to people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and isolation across the UK. I'm fundraising for them because their work has personally made a difference in my life.

Ten years ago, as a mum of two children under two, I was a little broken, lonely, and overwhelmed. I felt mentally and physically unable to cope with exercise, but I forced myself to socialise and join local groups. One of these was the Salvation Army's "Stay and Play" group.

It was two hours of children playing, plus a simple cup of tea and biscuits every Thursday. It provided a form of normality and routine when I needed it the most.

Fast forward a decade, and here I am! The Sally Army contacted me about running the London Marathon, and I accepted the challenge as my way of saying thank you for those Thursdays. It’s an absolute privilege to be able to move my body, and exercise has genuinely changed my outlook on life.

On Sunday, April 26th, 2026, I will tackle 26.2 miles to raise money for an amazing charity that truly looks after its community.

Every donation goes directly to supporting services just like the "Stay and Play" group, and countless others that help vulnerable people rebuild their lives.

Please, if you can, donate today and support The Salvation Army’s vital work. Thank you so much for your support!
